The Team

The success of our refurbishment projects is the result of the combined expertise of our team. From dedicated project managers you can depend on, to a highly-skilled team of trade professionals and a talented network of partner specialists, we work collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcome for your home.

Creative in our vision, practical in our approach, considerate in our method.
We collectively bring the full-spectrum of skills to each project and many years
of experience working on properties to reach their full potential. Our project team includes skilled decorators, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, cabinet-makers, plasterers, soft-furnishers, tilers, flooring fitters and damp-proofing specialists.

Every one of our team is committed to providing an exceptional service, and our project managers ensure this starts at our first meeting with you and continues through to your complete satisfaction at completion.

To Katherine, Raquel and the team, a huge thank you for your work at Mapperley Lodge.  I am over the moon with the results and couldn’t have done it without you.

Team - Kat Spencer

Katherine Spencer
 Head of Refurbishment

Katherine started her design journey in Theatre Stage Management at LAMDA, London, and her work has always involved the curation of a design vision into practical reality.

Katherine transitioned into property and has worked with second homeowners for over 15 years, specialising in refurbishment across South Devon.

As Head of Refurbishment at REFURB, Katherine has developed the service and capabilities of the team to meet every need of our client's requests over the years.

Katherine has a unique insight into always looking into the end use of every property. Her strengths include using her vast experience to understand the design and function of a space. With an eye on practicality combining aesthetics with functionality, and a talent for understanding and fulfilling clients' needs. Translating a client's vision into design concepts and reality while staying within budget and meeting deadlines.

Having worked on numerous iconic Salcombe and South Hams properties, including redesigning and refurbishing a cottage on Victoria Quay Salcombe, creating a whole new floor in a house on Island Street Salcombe (for which in partnership with the architect we won an award for design from Devon Building Control) and interior design of a fabulous brand new apartment at The Reach, South Sands.

Every project is unique, from newly built properties through to listed cottages., her passion for what she does comes across in every project and she enjoys the challenges presented by some of the unique locations and access. Previous ones have included ferrying dumpy bags of waste from site by boat and a large crane lowering a brand new Aga 20 metres down to a property!

Katherine oversees every project and takes a hands-on role as project manager.  View recent projectshere.

“What I liked about Katherine was that she understood my vision and helped me with that but also came up with ideas for achieving it.”
